the orphans

The Orphans are now in the Simon Store. Before we go any further, I promise not to make any terrible "adopt one today!" jokes, 'cause that's just too easy.

I've had some people asking about these, so I should apologize for the delay. These were drawn on an iPad and, as I should already know by now, what you see on the screen/tablet isn't necessarily what you're going to get on print. I've been walking a lot of revisions to the printers recently. Tweak. Print. Repeat as necessary. I should give some props to the people at the printing company I frequent for their patience.

There are six pieces total. Each piece is 9x11 and printed on the same glossy cardstock as the rest of the Simon prints. You can buy them piecemeal for $15 per print, or you can do like all the smart and sexy cool people and get the entire six piece set for just $50. My brain can't do math effectively at this late hour, but I think if you buy the entire set, you actually save like fifteen thousand dollars or something.

You'll never go hungry again.
I plan to add the same buy-the-full-set-for-a-reduced-price deal for the rest of my print sets very soon, so keep an eye out for that.

Even More-Phans

That title is horrible, and I've used it twice in a row now. Why the hell would I do that? Anyway, The Orphans are done, I finished the last piece last night. Here's' the entire set:

I like 'em, which is a rare first for me. I'd like to do more eventually, but for now, this set is done.

I was exploring the notion of printing these for sale and since the feedback has been significant, I'm going to do just that.

This is a test run of the entire set. I have to clean them up a bit and I need to determine a print size. The ones pictured are 9x11 glossy cardstock, but I'd like to get them up to 11x17.

This was fun. I enjoyed it. A lot. Now back to your damn chubby superheroes.

Meet The Orphans

In case it wasn't obvious in my other posts, I'm really digging Sketchbook Pro on the iPad. And I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it.

Here's what I'm doing with it:

This is a series I'm starting called The Orphans. The goal is make them entirely in digital mobile mediums and save for red, keep them limited to shades of grey. Oh, and to be gloomy as hell. More will come soon. You can see better images at my deviantART page

Some of you have already asked, and yes, there will be prints.

GLARE, the bane of every not-photographer.
This is just a (poorly photographed) test run, but high-quality prints will be available at the store as soon as I finish the rest of the pieces.
