The miserable, agonizing waiting game.

It would not be a stretch to say that patience is a virtue I am profoundly lacking. I can't count how many times I've ran to the Quick Stop for some smokes, got stuck behind that one asshole doing the lottery thing, bought my cigarettes, and then beat said asshole to death in the parking lot. I understand the idea of patience. I get it as a concept, but mindless violence just works better for me.

With that in mind, I am currently in the most agonizing part of the making-comics schtick: waiting for the printer to send me my shit. While I'll be the first to admit that my lack of patience is a major factor here, the fact that ComiXpress' customer service policy is to not reply to an inquiry until it's been emailed to them no less than five (5) times isn't really helping the situation.

So I've decided to keep a running log of every step of this process, from the moment I sent in the order to the moment I receive the final order. As the [ONGOING] bit in the title implies, I'll be updating this post as things happen, and keeping it stickied at the top of my site. Fun time.

-SUNDAY, 1/22/2012 4AM: I made the initial order for one (1) copy of Wayward #4 that will serve as a proof and uploaded my files. If the proof comes back and it looks good, I plan to make a reorder for stock.

-SUNDAY, 1/22/2012 4AM (moments later): I received two auto-reply emails: one confirming the order was received, and another confirming the files were received.

-WEDNESDAY, 1/25/2012 10:30AM: I received the invoice, paid it, and got the automatic Payment Received email.

-WEDNESDAY, 2/08/2012 10:15AM: My order has a cryptic date of yesterday, 2/7/2012 attached to it, but nothing happened yesterday. I emailed them asking for an update on my order and explained that I have an upcoming convention I need these books for. Received the "Thanks for contacting us, we'll get back to you!" auto-reply.

-WEDNESDAY, 2/08/2012 10:45AM: Received a reply from a human apologizing for the missed day. She also said that the proof was shipping today, but provided no tracking info.

-FRIDAY, 2/10/2012 11:00AM: Received another email from the same person saying the proof was shipped yesterday. The tracking number was also given.

-MONDAY, 2/13/2012 11:30AM: The proof arrived in the mail.

-TUESDAY, 2/14/2012 10:40AM: Reviewed the proof last night, everything looks fine save for one typo in the dialogue. I've corrected the error and uploaded a fixed page.

-WEDNESDAY, 2/15/2012 9:45AM: Put in the bulk order for C2E2 stock. It should ship out March 7th. I received the "We got your order!" auto-reply.

-TUESDAY, 2/21/2012 1:50 PM: Emailed them through their "Contact Us"page asking about the status of the invoice.

-THURSDAY, 3/1/2012 10:50 AM: Received and payed the invoice.

-WEDNESDAY, 3/7/2012 6:30 PM: The order was supposed to ship today. I even paid extra for a guaranteed rush shipment dated today. It may have shipped, but I didn't get an email confirming it. So, since I'm paranoid, I emailed them asking them if it shipped and reminding them I paid extra to guarantee it did. Got an auto-reply, but nothing substantial.

-THURSDAY, 3/8/2012 10:15 AM: Got an email from them saying they're shipping today (although they should have shipped yesterday) and that I should expect tracking info shortly.

-MONDAY, 3/12/2012: 12:00 PM: I never got the tracking info, but THE BOOKS ARRIVED.

I've been updating this entry since the first timestamp, but now it's done. Almost 2 months of fretting simply because I'm an anxious impatient bastard.
